I don't necessarily hate the guy, but I'm tired of hearing about him. This retired/not retired game is getting incredibly old.

Brett Favre? Mississippi guy who grew up to hold the most completions, attemps, touchdowns and wins records in the NFL. He is a hard *** who wears wranglers, drank/drinks to much, and kicks *** on Sundays.

How can you hate Favre? The guy played a professional sport with the attitude I wish every player would.

Ive seen him play in person a few times....the first couple of times I saw him play, I was in elementary school and he was in high school ....my school and his school (Hancock North Central) were in the same district at the time...........the schools split the two years I watched............I dont remember a whole lot from the games but I remember comments made by my dad and grandpa....about the potential he had if only he would be allowed to throw more....(HNC ran a wing-t type offense)

So long story short...ive followed his career and wished the Saints would have gone after him when he went to Green Bay.......hes played the game the right way....

Although I am tired of this story. He should have just taken his time to make the decision, but I guess he felt "rushed" and jumped the gun. There are probably reasons to blame on both sides in this one, but hell, if he's itching to play, let him play. He's still a quality NFL QB if last year is any indication. He'll have several options if the Packers comply with his release request.

On a side note... my father was a high school coach down on the coast in Vancleave when Favre was playing high school ball at Hancock. This particular year, the stud on their team was a running back. Hancock was pretty arrogant towards Vancleave, so before the opening kickoff, one of the coaches for VHS sent in a scrub to start a fight with the star running back after the play. He tackled the guy out of bounds and they both started going at it. Brett was already running onto the field, but when he saw what was happening, he ran back to the sideline, and took several swings at the scrub from Vancleave. All three players were ejected and Coach Favre was nearly tossed as well. Vancleve went on to win the game... all because of a dirty move and a classic Brett reaction.
