No…..they have one. They got a 2023 first rounder from the Dolphins in the Bradley Chubb trade. That pick originally came to Miami from SF though, so it will likely wind up being a late 1st round pick.

Regardless, it may not take a 1st rounder to get Payton, it will depend on what NO, Payton himself, and the new suitor can work out. Denver is probably one team that will pay whatever it takes, but that may not sit well with Payton himself to be handicapped even further in terms of draft capital.

The only certainty is that the more time passes, the less leverage the Saints have in getting anything for him. And after 2024, they won’t get anything. The Broncos are a logical trading partner since they are in the opposite conference.
