said in the CA yesterday that even though he played golf at State and gives money to the golf program, he was a huge Memphis basketball fan and wanted them to beat State.

I knew his folks were big Memphis fans. I knew Doug at State. Used to play golf with him some. He started out at LSU, I think, and transfered to State. He was never a guy to get into a lot of State sports. But I thought he would have just said he was conflicted.At least he is a former athlete contributing some money back to his sport. Lots don't even do that.
