Yeah. I wish him well. But that may be the toughest job in Division I football.I guess this is his shot at being a college HC. If he can even make Valley win 4-5 games/year - he will get noticed.
I think we did once. But they didn't have enough scholarship players to even make the game count as a win for bowl eligibility so we cancelled it. But I'm all for playing Jackson St. or Alcorn for our I-AA game, or even Valley if they can guarantee they'll have enough scholarship players.I think we should help him out and put them on the schedule.
That’s an absolutely brutal place to be a head coach. Why? If he wins, that’s big. I don’t fault him for giving it a shot.
It is. But props for giving it a go. Most people don’t have those balls. That’s an absolutely brutal place to be a head coach.

They have to probably recruit every Grenada, Charleston, Cleveland Central, Holmes County, Winona, South Panola and Calhoun City kid who would normally sign a D2 or Juco scholarship and hope they give him 4 years to get those freshmen to become seniors.Never know when a Totten to Rice combo might happen, just because.
But otherwise, it's going to be a tough go.
