Thought this deserved its own thread.

Scott Field & DWS average attendance numbers

1995 33,584
1996 34,560
1997 33,466
1998 37,385 (anybody remember this year? I recall it might have been a pretty good year for MSU football)
1999 37,821 (another banner year for football)
2000 42,958 (this year sucked)
2001 42.351 (sucked)
2002 48,291 (major suckage) **** first year of DWS expansion and INSTANTLY we have more people than the old joint ever held
2003 47,667 (seriously stinking it up...look 10,000 more fans than our best football year in modern history)
2004 43,792 (good gosh we suck)
2005 47,688 (horrible)
2006 41,527 (more suck)
2007 49,296 (hey look, mom, our first winning season in about a decade)

Proof positive that if you build it, they will come - even if your old place wasn't selling out. And if you win of course even more will come.

Bama, OM, and LSU are all home games in 2007,2005, and 2003. That has something to do with it. This year will be really interesting.

I guess it didn't really hit me how ****** the home games were this year until I got my tickets. Next year though, we should do really good on attendance, especially if we win this year. Home games next year: GT, Lsu, Alabama, Ole Miss, and I think Florida if I'm not mistaken. That's a nice lineup of home games and definitely worth the tickets. Does anybody else think we may break the season ticket sales next year? I don't know what the record is, but I could see it happening with that list of home games.

Edited for clarification: Home games worth seeing.

Surely as long as we don't fold this year, next year should easily surpass this year in attendance.

of reporting attendance. Before, it was actual attendance. Now, it's tickets sold.

Anyone know what season ticket sales are at right now? I think we should easily beat what ever ticket sales end at this year, next year, as long as we keep winning.

That's incorrect. The only time I ever sat in the east side club level was for the Troy State/tornado game in 2001. Not sure about the seating in the east side upper deck, but the suites and club level expansion was open no later than 2001.

Next year the optimism around football will be unreal. And I would love to see us knock Florida silly again at home. Maybe Tebow will still be around and we beat him.

I could see Byrne getting rid of the discounted season ticket packages next year assuming 8+ wins this year with that schedule.

I wanna say it was up for the 2001 season, like you said, but the East Upper Deck wasn't ready until the Egg Bowl that year.

we could bank big time next year. Next year would be the year to raise ticket prices for everyone because that home lineup is as solid as they get and imtimidating.
