A true State fan, always gotta complain about something!Maybe an unpopular opinion, and I know he'll go by Bully, but I hate that his name is Dak.
I agree with you. I hate hero worship of former athletes. I guess the next one will be named Jake Mangum ***Maybe an unpopular opinion, and I know he'll go by Bully, but I hate that his name is Dak.

Wow... I feel like Jak Crystal's Golden Prince was just named as Champ's successor yesterday. 8 years blows by now.Meet MSU’s newest mascot ‘Dak’ (Bully XXII) during SBW
The 2023 edition of Super Bulldog Weekend at Mississippi State University will be highlighted by Dak running onto the field at Davis Wade Stadium for a halftime ceremony in his honor.www.msstate.edu
I thought the official mascot was always an offspring of the previous one? This makes it sound like this family from Meridian applied for the rights to be Jak's successor. How old is Jak anyway, feels like we just got him in the role a couple of years ago...
Edit: just looked it up. Jak took over as the official mascot in 2015, so going on 8 years now.
Just as long as they feed Jake, he’s been a good dog..I agree with you. I hate hero worship of former athletes. I guess the next one will be named Jake Mangum ***
Probably best to not stick to a single bloodline. We know this from Georgia's experience with UGA and our own experience with some posters on this board.Meet MSU’s newest mascot ‘Dak’ (Bully XXII) during SBW

You say that like it's a bad thing.I agree with you. I hate hero worship of former athletes. I guess the next one will be named Jake Mangum ***
Jake is a good potential name for a Bulldog. You say that like it's a bad thing.
I like Rowdy.....name of a champion.Jake is a good potential name for a Bulldog.
How about Mangum PI?I like Rowdy.....name of a champion.
Pretty sure this Bully is part of Jak's bloodline. You know the reigning Bully sires a lot of pups that are usually made available for purchase, and this sounds like one of those. The only thing unusual here is that he will live in Meridian instead of the vet school. I hope he makes frequent visits to the vet school, though, to stay in shape.Meet MSU’s newest mascot ‘Dak’ (Bully XXII) during SBW

When I worked for Joe Dean at LSU… we had Mike the Tiger IV and that was in 1988. They have continued to name their Tigers… and as you know have a hell of a spot for him.I just hope State does away with numbered Bullys.
I don't think I'd care for Bully34...

We have never got our Bully's from a single bloodline. It's a mascot not a king. Plus, the uga's I've seen can't walk 100 feet without taking a nap and have a tendency to die if you look at them crossways.Probably best to not stick to a single bloodline. Much like some of the people who post on here.Plus, the uga's I've seen can't walk 100 feet without taking a nap and have a tendency to die if you look at them crossways.
Bully 34 would suck. Just be grateful Bully 17 is in our rearview mirror.I just hope State does away with numbered Bullys.

You're forgetting about the Meridian campus.Sounds like this is just a part time bully. Will he still be eligible for state retirement when he calls it a career?
We have been using the same bloodline since Bully XVI, who took over in the 90s. But it would not be some huge breach of tradition to go outside the bloodline. We have never got our Bully's from a single bloodline. It's a mascot not a king.
