I feel we will match on el presidente. We have the money to do so and can’t afford him leaving
Sell, but I do think that somebody else will be brought in. Not on the Jackson Arnold bandwagon tho.
I’m still not sold like others on just handing the program to Martin Van Buren. He needs to be pushed and has a lot to learn as well as clean up some bad mechanics. Hopefully we get him or whoever a much more competitive OL

I’ll buy - they’ll do what it takes to keep him unless he gets a ridiculous offer from a blue blood that makes it silly for us to pay.
I would say buy. He has had two seasons injured basically. So he would be better looking into a future not the nfl. I would be hesitant to pick him up as injure prone as he has been. One of the reasons I wasn't another transfer than him
I don't know that MVB is better today but he is at his floor and Shapen is probly close to his ceiling. I think he will come back as a back up as a way to partially kick off his coaching career. Who knows tho
Bingo. Except it's not whether he gets a big offer from another school. I'm hearing that's already happening. The question is will we match it and will he decide to stay. I think probably one of Shapen or Van Buren transfers, but no idea which one.
We don't have the money to match the big guys on a big offer. We just don't. I don't know why people keep claiming we do.
This is it exactly. We can't match a huge offer, if one. Hopefully we can pay him enough to keep him and develop him into a NFL draft pick. Going to be tough though. Got to balance paying him vs an entirely new D and paying our remaining offensive players.
If we don't hang on to MVB I'll be super disappointed. College football needs a franchise tag. I think Shapen may totally depend on what it takes to keep MVB, if MVB even wants to stay. He is a pretty stoic guy, so it's hard to judge his thoughts on being here. It would be nice if there was more information on who is offering and how much, vs what we are doing.
Cause we do…. This idea we are on welfare when it come to NIL is a bogus therory that played into the po OLs. MVB came here to play under Lebby, he won’t leave just cause some team makes overtures at him.
You seriously think we have the money Texas has? If they want a player, they will get him. Just like they got our womens basketball coach. Same with Florida. If they want a player, they will get him. Just like they got our football coach and AD.
If we have all this NIL money, why are we sitting at 2-7 right now with only one Div I-A win?
The guy chose us over Oregon who he was commited to and Oklahoma… yes he wanted to play for Lebby but acting like he was some two star nobody Lebby found and is here for pennys on the dollar is incorrect
Now on the portal situation and why we are at 2-7. For some reason people forgot we had a coach die and then we had his replacement not give a crap about recruiting especially the portal. Add to that the staff that was here didn’t do a damn thing recruiting wise once October of 23 rolled around. We hired Lebby, but he had to recruit, HS, JUCO and portal had to put together a staff in a very short amount of time. The quote “tampering” that’s was done by other schools had already left a very very thin portal market. We had some NIL money but that money has doubled since last year. So basing this season and saying we are 2-7 isn’t fair to Lebby and staff based on last year recruiting entirely the hay was in barn by the time Lebby was hired. Not to say that some mistakes and missed evals didn’t happen ( just look at FSU). We have more money and have had more time to devote to HS, JUCO, and portal this year and will for this offseason
