I posed this question in a thread below, but it's a long C34 thread which most of you won't read, so I'm sure it got missed. Does anyone else think something is wrong with Relf health-wise? He's strictly a north/south runner these days, and he seems to have lost a couple of steps. Like I said earlier, he's running like his shoes are made of concrete. He's not juking or putting moves on anyone. He just looks kinda immobile. He doesn't have near the elusiveness or explosiveness that he had before. I think this is a big reason why we've stopped running so many option and sprint-out plays.

Relf is still the more physical runner, but Russell has looked faster and more nimble when he's had an opportunity.

He was much more physical against Memphis and Auburn. The Auburn and LSU game really banged him up. It looks like instead of trying to deliver the hit he's trying to glance off the incoming hit.

He's hurting REALLY badly. One of my coaches is a volunteer coach who goes to school @ state and said he talked to him Fri and today, he said Relf's answer was "gotta keep grindin'" with a wry smile.

a RB that gets 20 carries a game. He gets to rest on some plays.

Relf gets 20 carries a game but never gets a break. He can't continue to be a 20 carry runner playing quarterback.

He's creditied with 27 carries against Auburn, then turns around 5 days later and plays the closest thing to an NFL defense we'll face this year.

Heonly had a couple of runs that actually picked upyards against LA 17'n Tech... he'seitherhurting or pissed off with the coaches/ other players (maybe a little of both). Either way, we didn't get his best Saturday night.</p>

i don't think he is banged up, right now ...it really seems mental with relf

he is not decisive as he use to seem or as I remember... but when we call qb runs, he hits the holes... when play breaks down he jitters around and takes a sack, like he is clastophobic

someone said on another board that he always ran behind tobias, now this seems to stick a little ...just not sure if it is the whole reason ...i am sure it is alot of 3

People are complaining about playcalling and I am not very happy at all, but I have yet to really figure out what the problem is... it seems like it is a mixture of
relf's decision
mullen/oc playcalling
offensive line ...injuries have really hurt us here where we really have depth, it is just not sec ready

Not only relf, the whole team is worn down. Hence, mullen gave them the day off today. It makes sense, tough loss at auburn, team goes full pads full contact sunday evening. Then 4 days later LSU. If yall dont think we looked worn out and unenthused I dont know what to tell you

at the goal line. You go back and watch it. He gets hit inhis thigh pad with unbelievable force. He could run that play 10 more times and that guy couldn't have gotten a luckier hit on Relf.

Add to that, he gets speared in the back 1/2 second later(Ref's didn't call that one!). He's not been the same since. I wouldn't say it's an injury. I would say it's confidence due to not making that play and has carried it for the last two games.

My only hope is that TD pass to Perkins Saturday night may be what he needed to get over it. We'll see this Saturday because Georgia is playing well and wanting payback for last year.
