There are Ohio State fans who'd much rather beat Michigan, than win the National Championship.

And before you quick "sell", IMO Ohio State fans are like Auburn fans on steroids.

If they close out the game tonight, he will be 70-10 since he took over as head coach in 2018. To answer your question, yes, they will still want him gone if they lose to Michigan again next year, even if he gets Ohio State back to the playoffs. And as soon as they fire him, there will be plenty of options for him to go to if he wants.

^^^^. These people exist. WOW
If he loses to Michigan 4 years in a row, he will be in trouble. A significant portion of their fan base wanted to lose the 1 st round game so they could fire him. It was a big enough portion that the WSJ did an article on it. But then you know more about Ohio State than them and the actual OSU fans interviewed do I’m sure.

A significant portion or a vey loud 100? I'd laugh at them.

Maybe so, but rivalries matter in college sports, a lot. Anyone that refuses to acknowledge that is not living in reality.
I figure these Ohio state fans are going to get over that Michigan loss pretty quick like.

Go beat off to an Ole Miss 2015 loss, loser

Lol, personal attacks, your stock in trade. You are quite entertaining. They won’t forget it. You know that too, of course.

I work with a bunch of Ohio State fans. They don’t have anything positive to say about Ryan Day. Many wanted to lose the first round to fire him. After winning that one, they’ve been pulling for OSU to win, but they’re saying nothing positive about Day

Well I’ll call our coach every name in the book if he brings us a NC in football and that includes losses to Ole Miss

If enough of the boosters think this success is because of 23 million spent on roster and the play calling of Chip Kelly and he loses to Michigan next season I think it is possible they will replace him with Chip Kelly.

I'm not sure Chip Kelly would take the job. Why does he need to be a head coach and deal with everything head coaches have to deal with these days?

A couple dozen posters on MBs/SM does not a fan base make. You poll any fan base with this question, "would you rather beat your rival or win a natty?" 99% pick the natty.

I actually know quite of few OSU grads/fans and they all hate Ryan Day. It’s wild.

College football fans are stupid. This board has plenty of evidence. The goal is the natty. Day is fine.

This all may be moot anyway because I don't trust Sherone Moore to keep Michigan's train rolling. Harbaugh is a phenomenal coach as evidenced by his immediate impact with the Chargers. They've already seen a drop off and that might continue.

They hate Ryan Day. They'll talk all kinds of **** about how he can't beat Michigan and should be fired for it. But it's just Aggie like weirdness amongst them. They wouldn't fire him after a championship. Not a chance.

He is on the hot seat for losing to Michigan three years in a row. If he loses to them next year too.......
Dude, stop believing everything you hear and read. He’s on no hot seat that matters. 9 wins next year and lose to UM again he’ll be back on it though

So where did you get your info? Mine came from the WSJ and several other outlets. If he doesn't beat Michigan next year he might not survive.

WSJ had this article after the natty? Interesting
Before it. The fans quoted specifically stated they would rather beat Michigan than win the national title. I'm sure you know more than actual Ohio State fans who were willing to be quoted by name in a national publication though.

Those fans were f'ing idiots then. Likely they didn't really believe that, but expressing frustration. Absolutely no one would pick beating their rival over winning a natty and anyone who's says they would is either an idiot or just talking (likely the second).
