I'm buying and I'll take some extra action on the side that it happens this year if we do not at least make the NIT and perform well there.

I think Fanning has to show some improvement in the program just like the other coaches do to keep her job. She has many years of being able to dwell on being average to below average in the SEC. It is time for her to step it up and take things serious or get the pink slip.

her mediocrity has gone on too long. if those titty dawgs are going to be using the proposed practice facility and the hump and taking away from the men's team, then they at least need to produce. we have two SEC titty teams that do well every year in TN and LSU so it is doable for our titties too.

But i dont see it happening, no need if the scholorships are in compliance for title IX.
Not like MS has a booming gymnastics program either.

On the subject of fanning, fire her asap..especially if she doesn't make the nit this season at minimum..no excuses accepted.
She got the free ride from LT for far too long.

There is a very successful women's coach out there and available, but it would take major cajones to make the hire.

I was being a tad sarcastic...but in her four years she has done a lot better than Brenda Bowlin ever did. And besides last year, her conference record has improved every year since she came back to State. Plus she did a great job at Northwest-Shoals CC so she has a solid track record.

...but I don't know that it'll happen this year. She's only starting year two of LT's four-year extension, so I don't know if GB would be that interested in paying two years worth of buyout for a sport that few are interested in.

[edit: forgot to add the obligatory....]

I don't think he'll fire her outright because of the buyout in a sport people don't really care about, but I'd be willing to bet that he lets her know that unless there is marked improvement he doesn't plan on renewing her contract.

No one will be more outraged than me if we spend money to buy out a women's basketball coach. I'm fine with firing Fannin, but do it when her contract's up. </p>

It's the same as the answer to the question, "What do you do about your wife/girlfriend not achieving orgasm?"

"WHO CARES!!"</p>

they draw good crowds too. She is very hot now as well, since she lost a lot of the muscle she had as a gymnast.

from what I have heard for a long time now, the next sport addition at MSU is going to be women's equestrian because we already have the facilities. Gymnastics would not draw in Starkville
