was so loyal to Raffo, he should've left after riding the excitement of last years CWS and Raffo would have been the HC. No doubt.

would have mattered. LT would have let Polk name his successor. They might have had an informal agreement to that effect. And that informal agreement might explain why Polk is so furious (other than the fact he is nuts.) He might feel like he was promised something that wasn't delivered. Raffo probably feels the same way. Just a thought. I have absolutely no basis in rumor for putting it out there.

and Polk had that agreement. LT assumed he would be here longer than Polk and would deliver Polk's wishes. And when you assume well..............you make an ***(out of)u(and)me

if you were Ron Polk, why would you step down after you just took MSU to Omaha? We had a lot of pretty decent players coming back, and I bet he probably thought we would be pretty good again. The injuries to our entire starting rotation, closer, and our top four hitters couldn't have been forseen by anyone.

To me, what is really sad is that if Raffo were the coach, and he had a craptastic season, we would've had to have given at least one to three more years of bullcrap so that we could say that we gave him "a fair shot". I still think we would've gotten Cohen, just based on what he said at his press conference yesterday, but it would have been a three year rebuilding poject just to get us back to where we were, whereas now, I think it probably will be a year or two to get us back to where we were.

I doubt it. Polk would have made the announcement, LT would have said "it's Ron's call" and that would have been the end of it.

No. We didn't have that many good players coming back. I tried to tell you guys that before the season started. We would have never been 9-21 without all the injuries, but we lost all of the best players off of last year's team. Our top 2 returning starting pitchers had losing SEC records last year with ERA's of 5.00+. Not to mention we lost 3 of our 4 best hitters. The talent level of our team just isn't where it needs to be. It's not even close.

pretty decent a little better- as in average. And pretty good for Polk would equal about 30 wins, which would have gotten us into a Regional.

So, I agree to agree that we weren't all that great to start with.
