the success of the Spread and the changes by the Big 10 to incorporate it allows them to challenge the SEC and Pac-10 as top conference again...

I'm selling...the days of the Big 10 being the top conference are gone...Its going to remain Ohio St, Michigan, and a bunch of also-rans...The South and Cali have the weather advantage plus more and more tradition being added each year...

Yes, I did. But i also watch this board and every thread you start is about the spread offense.

When you recruit you recruit for speed and your best players usually end up on offense. This leaves a deficiency in team defense when it comes to speed. If you look at the past decade the spread teams that traditionally put up large numbers offensively have to outscore their opponents because their defense is so bad. This is not always the case but the stats don't lie. Florida and Texas Tech come to mind. They run 12 totally different type spread offenses but their defense has been suspect.

Wisconsin and occasionally somebody else. Those have been the 3 best teams in that conference with UM & OSU as the top two for a long time.
