And that's something Stans has consistantly done throughout his career. Losing Ervin, the Delks and Hansbrough is a problem, but he's won consistantly enough to get a little slack from me on the transfers. Now if they start causing him to quit winning, that's a different story.

The defections keep Stans from ever having a team that is primarily made up of SR & JR starters w/ JR & SO primary backups. I will give Stans credit for winning consistently, but I think having a team with more experience would help him break thru to a special season like he had with Roberts, Bowers, Vincent, & Power. That should have been the team he rode to at least the elite 8. Losing starters before their JR & SR seasons hurts & it is hard to balance out with recruiting unless you can consistenly pull in top 25 - 30 nationally ranked HSers, which Stans doesn't.

his recruiting is keeping him afloat but not having experienced depth hurt this team this year as I believe it cost us at the beginning of the year when we were trying break in new starters and later in the year when Coach Stansbury wasn't confident in the freshmen for depth.

With the Delks (assuming they weren't going to cause problems), we'd have won at least 3 of the 5 games we lost early and would have probably gone another round or even two in the NCAA (both because of a higher seed and because Ben and Barry wouldn't have had to carry almost the entire load at the 2 and 3 positions).
