I see Miss. State taking the place of Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, pre-2007 Illinois, etc., for owning the 11 A.M. ESPN time slot. It may not be bad in and of itself. If State sucks, then you're getting the torture out of the way early. If State is successful, then you can finish up the tailgating by watching other games at the tent for hours on end after celebrating a victory.
I didn't mind the occasional Thursday night game. As a matter of fact, if the game was played following an off-week (like in 1999 and 2000), it was an advantage. However, when it got to where we were on 2 or 3 times a year it got to be too much.</p>
