Some insightful critiques...

<---------------- lower to higher priority -------------------------------------------->
Hardy (DB), Isaac (DE), Cain (RB), Reed (S), van den Berg (DT), Christ (OT), Buddin (LB), Ellie (DT), Veilleux (QB), Izzard (DT)

Ellies and Izzard were a couple of the worst rated run defenders in the B10 this past season.

Honorable mention:
Sutherland (Sam LB)
Beamon (DE/DT)
Vanover (DE/DT)

DTs definitely need to gain weight and get stronger. Whatever regimen PJ was on, the same needs done for Ellies, Van Der Berg, and Izzard.

I think you have to push Buddin and King a little differently. Winter bulk. Spring cut and cardio. Summer bulk before fall camp. Outside of some big step up or a portal player, these guys could be the starters inside next season.

I'd leave Jacobs outside. His instincts for the spot are top notch. I don't know if his body is ready to progress inside, or if it ever will be.

I also wonder if our S&C can speed up Washington and Tinsley like Galt did Dotson. That little extra gear made a difference.

I like Jacobs to stay at Sam as well, but it seems that what has been indicated by the staff is Jacobs moving to Will. Hope not.

LB seem to have about the fewest options for depth on the team, and I'd be extremely surprised if a portal LB is not brought in. Even if both Buddin and King have been evaluated as ready to play big minutes the quality depth is not there, unless true freshmen Wylie (who will be transitioning from being a H.S. DE) and Carter can be depended upon which doesn't make much sense as they won't even be at PSU until the Summer. Moving Jacobs to Will does help with depth as then PSU would have both Sutherland and Buddin still at Sam.

I also liked the discussion of Reed, as he will be competing to start at Safety and great Safety's need to be physical enough to load up against the run when necessary.

Hard to be optimistic about Christ, as I can't remember him playing a snap or being mentioned by the staff in 2 years. But he's still pretty young for an OT and PSU surely needs OT's, starters and depth, so wouldn't it be great if Christ did some how emerge this Spring.....

Noah now in the portal, so no need to worry about him. Cole Brevard needs to do something, as he is the biggest DT next to PJ. not sure how long it will take PJ to get back.
