the interesting thing about Byrne being promoted from within is he was likely able to see who was competent in the AD and who was not. this is much different than being an outsider coming in and firing everyone based on limited information.

I posed the question yesterday how long would it take for heads to roll. I gave it within 2 days.

My next prediction.....

My *** is getting drunk tonight.

Tomorrow morning I should be 2 for 2.

I'll take a stab at it. Maybe Duncan (been around as long as LT) and Bobby T (douche bag)?

I know if I were GB, that'd be who I'd fire. Bobby T first. And from the little time I worked in the media relations department, I'd get rid of Nemeth & Co., too. There's only 1 person who was full time I met I'd keep in that department. My other move would be creating a stand alone marketing department, because to be blunt, we have no marketing. Saying it sucks would be an upgrade. I'd also get out of our licensing contract with Mickey Mouse Inc. and join the Collegiate Licensing Association the other 11 SEC schools are a member of.

Nemeth? Really? I also did a little work in Media Relations and I really liked Mike and John and thought they did a pretty good job with the media guides and such. On the topic of media relations, did you, or anyone else, notice that Byrne hired the Scott Stricklin, the media contact for UK basketball, to fill Greg's old position. I don't really understand hiring someone who's been a media relations guy to fill a job that was advertised as a fund raiser. FYI, Scott is a State alum and one of Nemeth and Cade's boys

but there's more to the job. Of course in fairness, they could have been overruled by LT who micromanaged the entire athletic department. Still, I was never impressed. There's a difference in being passable and being good. Nemeth & Co. are passable. I want someone good.

"hope" somebody got fired? You want them to lose their house, too? Maybe come down with a serous illness?

Maybe because they're a drain on the athletic department and we can do better. Were you making a big deal about it when almost everyone was hoping Raffo and the rest of the staff were let go? Maybe you were and I just missed it.

I thought it was time he moved on. However, I wanted him to be given the opportunity to step aside, which he would have after the 07 football season.

And to answer graddawg. I would've supported Raffo and my posts on the subject were deliberately neutral. I'm happy about Cohen though.

I love it. You worked in media relations for "a little time" as a student and you think you are an expert. Jesus Christ.</p>

By the way they did fire somebody in that office and it is a disgrace.

Oh yea, by all means lets just stand pat. It's worked SOOOOO well for us over the past decade. We are still DEAD LAST in the SEC in athletic funding. How many more decades did you want to give those idiots to "improve" MSU athletics??????

Dier is a wuss. I ran the media center at baseball games when Dubose was there. We had a graphic we'd show after a strikeout with the number of K's he had for the game (i.e. KK for 2 strikeouts, KKKKK for 5 strikeouts). We didn't even have one for 3 K's (KKK) to avoid any kind of Klan references or racial issues. The NAACP complained anyway, and instead of explaining what the K's meant or telling the NAACP to get bent, Dier made me remove the graphic.

Word is that Rosinski was let go. I can't confirm that totally, but I imagine we will know soon enough.

....the week before the South Carolina game in Columbia that yes, they still had tickets, but you had to purchase them in person. Couldn't get them over the phone. Essentially saying you can't go to the game unless you're within driving distance of Starkville.

Fortunately I knew someone else that could overrule that.

Rosinksi always reminded me of Eddie Deezen from Wargames and Midnight Madness.
