I’ve heard stories of his explanation of why he chose State. I’ll tell y’all at the tailgate. Not putting it in writing.
His last time leaving the Hump floor was one of my favorite memories ever at the Hump. I happened to be there from out of state and very glad I went to that one. Regardless of what you thought of him before then, you had to realize at that moment that he loved MSU.
I wish he would have been around to coach Tolu the last couple of years. If Tolu had CR's attitude down low -- which was basically "I'm going to dunk the ball and deez nutz in your face" every time he touched the ball -- we would have been hell on wheels. And I do think it was attitude. Tolu had the body and ball skills, but he wanted to lay it up with a whirlybird move while getting fouled instead of going straight up and cramming that ****.
