First, I am glad IU lost ... anything to further separate us from other contenders (even if only on paper).
Second, though I am old school, it absolutely bothers me that she was able to catch the inbounds pass
and take 4 steps before she took the GW shot. Not even close ...

If the NBA, WNBA, and NCAA are going to allow steps, then change the rules. Otherwise, blow the
whistle.

Just a humble thought and I have not ready any statement concerning her steps (anywhere, though I
have not gone looking). This non-call has been the frog sitting in the pot of water and the temperature
has been turned up ...

Go Lady Gamecocks!!! Keep dictating pace, stay healthy, and bring home two more title's!!!

You're looking at it all wrong....it was simply a layup; don'tcha see? I agree with you though. ALL of basketball is soooooooo far from where it was years ago.....

Miller, the dude from Bama clearly walked before he hit the game tying **** to send our game to OT. They call an obvious traveling there, and Carolina wins the game in regulation. Egregious refereeing in that instant.

From what I see, she caught it and then put each foot down twice ... four steps ...
One of her toes was dragging the floor when she caught it, so after that she took 2 steps.
Putting her 2nd foot down to take a shot is not taking a step. Eveyone does that.
I see nothing wrong with it.

For some reason, some don’t seem to want to give this girl credit

Exactly the way I see it as well. Officiating this season has been abysmal. I don't know the answer but it is ruining the game....
It all started when the Jordan Shuffle that got called when he was in college got a pass in the NBA. The rule governing traveling has been eroding ever since.

She gets 2 steps, right?
Yes if you go by refereeing in the last 40 years or so. In her first step ( the one some want to count as one of three) she was receiving the ball and therefore the ref is not going to ( if y go by refereeing in the last 40 years or so) count that as a step. She did no different from what I see constantly. Refs have given more slack than they used to. Make that call and about a million others that have occurred just like it and I’ll understand the scrutiny

I watched it also yesterday and thought the same thing. I counted four steps. She caught the ball and stepped with her right, then left and then planted her right and then left then shot the ball. That is her feet hitting the ground 4 times with no dribble. If it was in Indiana I think it gets called but in Iowa it was let go.

And must dribble before a third.
Or stop & plant her feet. When she plants her 2nd foot, that's not a step.
If you take a step forward, and then plant your 2nd foot, you still took 1 step.
You did notice she catches the ball while in the air?

And launched after taking three steps. Traveling.

She's a phenomenal shooter. Best I've ever seen. Is that enough credit for you? She walked on the play.
Agreed ... credit for what? This play? No! Her play overall? Absolutely! She is likely the National POTY (though I think Boston is deserving because of her production (lower than last year) and the fact that she is often triple and even quadruple teamed ... with this, the Lady G's are undefeated and the obvious #1 ... take her out of the equation and it is a different story!
