does anyone remember the issues with Cam Newton's recruitment and what started as a NCAA problem, but pretty soon had FBI involved with criminal issues? What were the legal problems, and what ever happened and who was prosecuted criminally? I believe there was over $100k involved.

All I know is what transpired at UF since I knew someone who worked at the football office at the time. The story is he took a university laptop. They were able to trace the laptop to his room when he connected to the university network (rooms had Cat 5 connections). University authorities knocked on his door and announced themselves. CM then dropped the laptop out his dorm window, right to the other university authorities who had parked themselves by his window.
His story was that he bought a laptop out of trunk of a car that just happened to belong to the university.
After his dismissal, I have no idea what transpired.
