Let's hope so. If you have even one shut-down-corner that can play single coverage on most plays it make the entire defense better.
I'm not too concerned about the defense. We will have some talent there in addition to Smith. Pickens, Johnson, Strachan are all players. And in Clayton White as DC, we have Ellis Johnson 2.0 there. The defense overachieved last year.
I believe we have even more talent on offense....Rattler, Gwynn, Wonnum, Vann, Stogner, Joyner. The question mark on offense is the Offensive Coordinator.
