I suspect this is Stoops final year. He had a window where things were good but thats some time ago now. He should be appreciated for what he did and not ridiculed. UK is a horribly difficult place to build a winning program.

I hope he quietly retires and is shown proper respect for his accomplishments. He would have had a good shot at retiring with a winning record if not for CRod. Look at the list of UK coaches who have accomplished that.
No harder than Indiana. Stoops proved you can build a respectable program, but whatever happened here idk, but it’s time to move on.

Cal made an error in judgement in the way he handled his exit but he at least had enough class to know it was over and left before he destroyed his legacy for good. Stoops should take note honestly.
I believe that for him it was purely a business decision. He knew that we were done with him and that he could dupe ARK into a huge payday and a few more years of his BS. Barnhart actually played it perfectly with him at the end.

I agree with that, but without Calipari’s help Barnhart would be stuck with him like he was with Stoops. That’s why we had that cringy after season announcement with them both after everyone thought he would fire him.

Cal was still marketable and had national name recognition. Stoopsid has none of that or even a lateral coaching move.
