Honestly with everyone trying to copying that psu magic wouldn’t be shocked to see tOSU make a push for an alumni soon
I'd be shocked if they didn't promote from within. Jaggers has about 10 years more coaching experience than Cenzo.

If they're going for the outside superstar hire, then it'll be Snyder or Burroughs if they want it. Cenzo doesn't have Taylor-level name recognition. Dlagnev could be an outside hire since he trained there for years, but if they're considering him, why not stick with Jaggers?

I think Jaggers would be an excellent hire, but Stieber I believe is the one who is going to get that job. I would rather DeBoer get the job though.

Agreed in general, though the timing might not work out that way. Ryan is 56. He might retire before Ohio State is ready to promote Stieber. I guess they could promote Stieber to CEO anyway with Jaggers remaining as COO ... but that does risk losing Jaggers, who's clearly ready to run his own program. I could see either getting the job.

As a four time NCAA champion, Stieber does have the street cred. Would he be able to get a deep pocketed OSU wrestling fan to provide the same sort of cash flow which it seems DT now has at Okie State? That's the key.

The question is, has Stieber developed as a coach to warrant a deep pockets guy to back him? I haven't seen that yet but maybe it's early.

Yes meant assistant role right now for Cenzo, definitely not a DT level, right out the the gate head coach

Dlagnev has excellent technical coaching skills but he wrestled in Nebraska, heavyweights aren’t currently the ‘in’ college types for coaching

I hope Cenzo can find a place to settle down. He has made a lot of moves since graduating from Penn State (Stanford, Arizona State, North Carolina, now Lehigh).

Dlagnev is the exception. When/if he ever gets the chance to have a head job, his interview is going to be impressive and he's going to do a great job. Beyond technique, Dlagnev is the best mental coach in the game.

Do you think he is better than Terry Brands?

Edit: My bad. I read mental coach as mental case. Sorry.

Yeah. i saw that. Doesn't help that Cormier was legit a fat person.

But yeah. Cormier shouldn't have been anywhere near the Cog. That was dumb.

I love Cenzo. I really do and I hope he does very well in his career progression. Maybe I’m a bit envious as I recall the days of ‘professional profile photograph’ as you joined a new firm, got a new job, etc. In my day you’d don a new sport coat or tie… But we didn’t dress like we were going out to clean out the garage.
I wish you the very best Cenzo. Signed, Jealous Old Guy.

Cenzo was Greg's best friend (they lived together) when they overlapped at PSU. Greg previously planned to stay at NLWC (and is still in State College) but I had heard the second Cenzo took the Lehigh job that this could be in the works. It helps Lehigh has a strong heavyweight room as well.
