I guess he preferred Liberty to USF and I don’t blame him. Again, this move shows he wasn’t getting a ton of real interest from Power 5 schools. He needed to take another step up but he should do well there. That’s a good job.

To me, this is an odd move. Nothing against Liberty, but it seems like a lateral move.
Liberty has great facilities and is committed to winning. USF just realized they better start committing to facilities. Liberty is a much better job. The program is in good shape already. USF is at rock bottom.
Liberty is a much better job than USF and I was hoping to get Chadwell to Tampa because I live in Tampa. Was hoping he’d at least give me a reason to watch USF. Which is strange because I don’t watch Coastal. But it would be nice to have good fit all being played in town.
Just see USF as a bigger program and potentially a much bigger program. The press they seem to recieve is greater than Liberty.
Both are a stepping stone to him. I definitely think Liberty has way more potential for him to be hired away from a P-5 program in 2-3 years.
Go look up Liberty’s football facilities. Liberty has a ton of $$. I get this doesn’t feel like a huge step up and probably isn’t. But many are tying Chadwell’s success to Grayson McCall. Maybe he even realizes the roster turnover will lead to a bit of a setback next season and taking a new job is a better option. Especially a program on the rise like Liberty, who has put a lot of money, and will continue to invest a lot of money, into the program.
USF is situated in a great area, but Liberty has a lot going for it. I've seen their facilities and they were impressive. They've been further improved since I saw them. They have skads of money. They could go as high as they want to go - provided they could get into a marquee conference especially.
For what it’s worth, Coastal was paying Chadwell $900,000 per season. Liberty is paying him over $4M per season.

His pay, I understand the move. Unless they have NIL coffers, Coastal has had more success over the last 5 years or so.
