Limitations on years of eligibility. This has been getting chipped away at already with guys getting 5, 6, 7 and even 8 years to play. The old "5 to play 4" has been long gone, in practice. Lawsuits are ready to go to formally challenge any limitations.

Any academic eligibility requirements. In practice, players won't even have to be students.

It's hard to imagine these challenges won't be successful.

Yep, it's going to be pro football before long. The best of the best will still go to the NFL for the chance to make insane amounts of money, but for those great college players who are projected to be marginal NFL players, they could opt to play "college" ball for a nice salary for as long as the team will keep them. A guy like Connor Shaw might play at Carolina for 10 years or so, making $500K - $1m per year.

I had the same thought. It’s crazy to consider ”college” players staying for a decade or more.

I swear, a player could sue the ncaa for it being illegal to murder someone on the field, and I believe the courts would side with the “student athlete”.
