It's not impossible. The most talent doesn't always win, and usually doesn't win in baseball. But the one thing the Rays have going for them....there are multi-year contracts in baseball. They can actually keep some top end talent together for a few years. College baseball "contracts" are day to day propositions. Almost continuous free agency. It's really insane and unsustainable when you stop and think about it.
