Great name for a bowl game.

To their credit, clempson has no opt-outs.

Not much scoring here. 6-3, clempson leads, early in the 3rd quarter.

clempson taking over. 20-3. clempson scores a pick-six. iowa state pass is deflected, and the QB tries to bat it down to the ground. Instead, he bats it forward, and it’s intercepted.

From the article:

”Other Clemson players, at least the healthy ones, with immediate NFL aspirations are defensive end Xavier Thomas, cornerback Mario Goodrich, defensive tackle Tyler Davis and linebacker James Skalski. They’ll probably have to be pulled off the field at some point Wednesday night.

"We get to play football,” Skalski said. “Yeah, we’ve been to the playoffs and on bigger stages. But to us, we get to go play a game again. We get a chance to go represent Clemson and show everyone what we can do, including ourselves. I think we all just love playing ball, and we love being together.”

Skalski left the game and is on the sideline in a boot. I didn’t see what happened.

Crazy ending. 4th down. iowa state gets a 1st down on a QB run, but he fumbles and recovers it behind the line to gain. clempson ball.

clempson wins, 20-13.

QB Brock Purdy with some of the worst plays/decisions I've seen from a preseason Heisman candidate. Bats his own deflected pass to the Clemson D for a pick 6. Acts like there is plenty of time inside 2 minutes to play with 1 timeout. Makes a clutch run for a first down with under a minute to play, then decides he's Barry Sanders instead of going down, fumbling the ball back behind the line to gain, ending the game.

That final run by Purdy was horrible. Did you see the way he held the ball out? That was easily popped loose by the defender. Shame the game ended that way though. But Purdy started 40+ games at ISU, so he absolutely knows not to hold the ball out like that.
