This is an odd one. Chip Kelly leaves his HC gig at UCLA to become the Offensive Coordinator at Ohio State. He was on thin ice at UCLA, but this just seems odd. Maybe he saw the writing on the wall with UCLA moving to the B10.
This guy took over a program at Oregon that was on a good foundation and somehow turned it into a job with the Eagles and the UCLA job. But his legacy is all but finished at this point. Doesn’t seem like he’s near the coach many believed he was at Oregon. Certainly not the offensive mastermind many believed he was.
What’s crazy is another job in the coaching carousel opens up and now the UCLA players have 30 days to enter the portal…that’s pretty much spring break.
