I have a Tech guy here in our office. He says they can't stop the run and are thin up front. Bennett is good, but he's not a worldbeater or anything. He just won the starting job this week. Their last 5 recruiting classes have like 5 3*'s and nothing else.

We have them outmanned at every position. All we have to do is show up and play solid and we win.

...I'll let him guard your goats. We see this game the same.

People who have actually "seen" Anthony Dixon so far this year knows he is a different back than last year. He is faster, stronger, and is using his power to run through tackles. Depending on number of carries, he may get 1500+ yards this year and actually get some votes for the Heisman. La Tech is not going to stop him...we control the clock, we control the score. It will be what Croom wants it to be. The center of our offensive line dominates the line of scrimmage.

Backer, seriously....step down off the ledge. Take your meds. AD is a good back He runs hard He has a nose for the end zone. He is not a Heisman caliber back, nor will he receive one single solitary vote for the Heisman. That's right up there with Leeinator's age old prediction that Jerrell Houston would be the next big-game shooter at MSU and that if he had not gotten hurt in high school he probably would have gone to the NBA. Heisman and NBA talent don't just fall off trees and land in Starkville in the form of three or four star recruits.

only way you'll get votes for the Heisman is to be mentioned for it the year before. Dixon is about like Deuce McAllister, except he doesn't return kicks to wow people. And they had to lobby like hell to get him even considered.

I say 1300 yds.

Dixon is not a Heisman caliber TB. And we dont have the OL to get him to that point anyway. 2 returning starters and little depth is not a recipe for 1,500 yards

I am very concerned about this game. So many things lining up against already, then Pegues out, maybe Sherrod. Just hope and pray Carroll has no pick6s and we can out muscle their front 7. Dixon and Ducree have to have big games.

we're not a heisman caliber team. It doesn't matter if Dixon is a heisman back or not. That thing is such a joke, it has more to do with what team you play on than whether or not you're the best player in the country. That's why, this year, it goes to Beanie or Tebow. 2 schools who will be playing in BCS bowls.

lost almost a tenth off his 40. If he really HAS done that, some of those runs that he stupidly takes to the outside are going to turn into big gains. But Heisman votes? Hell no.

he said why the hell are we playing down there when everything to lose and nothing to gain.

And yeah, I'm a hot shot.

He completed under 50% of his passes and had more INTs than TDs last year (somehow he had a 105 QB rating.. what the hell does the college QB rating stat take into account?). His arm makes Wes Carroll look like Dan Marino. Unless he's gotten A LOT better, they better have a good running game.</p>

I can't imagine a more electric environment in Starkville if that's the case, and the game would have to rate as the most anticipated home contest since Croom arrived in 2004.
Ok this game will be 3rd most anticipated in my mind.
1) Alabama 2007
2) Ole Miss 2007 were my highly anyticipated home games than this but damn it im going to be hammereed for Auburn.

And for the heisman speculation..... Dixon would have to be on USC to get heisman that guy for Central Florida has the 2nd most rushing yards in one season and didn't win ****.

Well, and also Deuce was fast. Dixon doesn't have breakaway speed.

I compare Dixon more to BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Great between the tackles RB. Not going to beat you to the corner, and not going to break off a 50+ yard run very often.

There was a lot of lobbying for Deuce, but the thing that hurt him the most was nothing he did on the field. It was the 3 injuries he had during his senior year that limited him to just shy of 1000 yards on the season. He wouldn't have won the Heisman, but he'd have received more consideration had he been able to remain healthy for the whole year. Instead, he played most of the year at less than 100%.

i like to use Jerious Norwood as an example. He could have been all world if he had gone to a school with an O-Line and passing game. Instead he carried our team and went third round. he akes NFL guys look slow as smoke off s**t.

I love how sure everyone is about Dixon getting nowhere near the Heisman. The dude has the potential to be completely badass. There is no law that says that just because he plays for MSU, and wasn't mentioned last year that he will not be mentioned this year. Everyone was so sure last year that Tebow wasn't going to get it because he was a sophmore. If Dixon is a monster this year and runs for miles up and down the field, then I don't see how there isn't a chance for him to be at least mentioned. Give me a break.

You left out the fact that Tebow played at Florida not MSU. So regardless of him not supposed to win it as a sophomore he played for Florida. A heisman producing school.

Dixon averaged 82 yards per game last year so forgive us if we think this Heisman talk is BEYOND stupid. Damn, you guys need to be careful. The wool is growing at a record pace.

He is supposed to be much improved since last year. And I never said he would even be anywhere near winning, just a mention though is not impossible.

That really doesnt matter when the OL in front of him is not as good as the year before...and its not going to be..we are too young on the 2 deep

The team we have now is just a little better than the one that lost to Maine.
