Is it closed off to the community? I've never gone, but I live nearby. I've also never seen where to buy tickets either. Don't see any on Clarion's website.
It's open to the community.
Last year, ticket prices for the event were:
"Tickets for the event are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Children are admitted for free, as are members of the Clarion Pin Club."
Would anyone be surprised if he won as a high school jr?? Is there anybody in his path ??
I would think that is hard to say, isn’t that mostly filled with redshirts . The brackets are filled and Ohio state normally sends a few so that probably is the toughest competition unless we send a few guys. I lean towards him not winning but possible depending on who registers and how the brackets work out. Would have to avoid someone of the Rocco Welsh caliber
Back in 2023 Marcus Blaze came within converting a last-second TD against Braeden Palmer in the Finals to winning the tournament. In the process he beat Jax Forrest and Matt Ramos.
Blaze ain’t entered this year because he’s scared of Joey Fischer! Surprised Joey is up to 133 even after the redshirt. I hope he has a great year!
Last year's Clarion Open 165 finalists were Brignola and Mantonona. Both might return. Paddy Gallagher is also likely in the field, as Ohio State typically sends most of their starters and key backups/tanshirts.
This is all a guess for now -- no registrations listed yet.
Generally, it varies by weight. Matt Ramos competed at Clarion Open in the fall after pinning Spencer Lee at nationals -- and lost to Blaze.
Ohio st will be sending almost everyone obviously no Mendez with who's #1. Penn St will send guys as well

I know Melvin was gonna go as well not sure if that's changed or not. I hope he goes
Yes. Flo said Melvin registered as well but at 157. Melvin/Cannon should be good
Other notables. 125 should be good. You got 3 way battle for tOSU Bouzakis, McCrone, Kilkeary. And then throw in Knox. I think I’m going Knox

Was the plan when the season ended he's been shrinking his body for awhile.
With his event in November in Japan and it being freestyle it would surprise me. But I do like a good surprise

Seems like yesterday when high schooler Levi Haines beat freshman Paddy Gallagher in the Edinboro Open. Now it looks like a number of high schoolers could win titles at Clarion.
Flew as an airline pilot in Japan. Was invited to a Chanko Nabe restaurant owned by a former Grand Champion. Some of the sumo wrestlers were eating there. We ordered one portion for each of us. Wrestler closest to us ordered seven portions of soup and rice. This was during the Fukuoka tournament.Japan holds a big tournament in Fukuoka every November.
As I recall, Levi put it on Paddy.
I recall it wasn’t that close, but could be wrong. The Ohio Hype machine was in full swing. Tough on the kid when, for a host of reasons, things don’t work out as hyped.
Levi winning was a big deal and yet not completely unexpected. You don’t skip your senior year for nothing. This year there are multiple kids who might do the same thing…..excluding Jax. Wild.

Yup just seen that, kind of weird that some of the backups are not at any of the 3 opens this weekend.
