He’s going to seek a red shirt naturally but why does this make me weary that he’s going to transfer?

It sucks because he’s a point guard and we don’t really have one: but let’s not act like he was playing amazing when he played. He played in seven games, averaged just 18 minutes per game, 6.6 points and 2.3 assists per game. The last game he played was the loss to Butler. He played 15 minutes, had 0 points and 2 assists. He wasn’t very productive when he played, although I’m sure he would be a fine role player.

Point of thought

he is a transfer

he is trying to maximize his $$$

Any thought this was intentional would cost him. $$$

sometimes **** happens

This years team ROCKs. Better if he on it but this is what we get.

Next year, Jan’s will assess the situation and keep or discard him based on his contribution, potential and eligibility. For now, be a ******* fan.

Funny thing is that by next season redshirting probably won't exist anymore and everyone will have 5 to play 5, meaning that he just wasted a year of his life for nothing.

Good point but it still remains this ain’t making him money. Eligibility aside… being a non-playing drain on the team will not get you paid. 5 years to play for everyone means none of this will be on purpose, conspiracy theorist will explode.

Glad we don't have to worry about his return any longer. Got tired of hearing about it.
Surprised it got the run that it did as the writing's been on the wall for awhile he wasn't playing again this year, for what ever reason. That said and as others have often, sure would have been nice to have him for a number of reasons.

It's ok we have a 6 foot 7, 235 senior taking the ball up the court that's only averaging 10 turnovers for every 1 assist.
Yeah, his success at initiating the offense and protecting the ball in conference play has been terrible.

Matthews had 53 assists to 24 turnovers in non-conference play.
Matthews has 23 assists to 30 turnovers in conference play.

For me, you should factor in his steals as well. Steals should offset his turnovers. I know they don't track it that way for statistical purposes, but maybe they should.

What is this comment in response to?

Regardless, Post only really became a go to and highly effective player his 4th year of college and solidified that during his 5th year.

I don't think twice about him not getting Ado's minutes. Post was not impactful his first 2 yesr's with us, and even after he transferred he wasn't any more effective in his 3rd year...his numbers were up simply because his minutes were up.

As a freshman, him largely sitting so that Reggie Perry and Ado play made sense.
As a sophomore, him largely sitting so that Tolu Smith and Ado play made sense.
