I've been around long enough to know we can never extrapolate from one team's performance to our own performance against a common opponent. However, the Citadel ran for 5.2 ypc against the Clemson D.

I know I'll probably get some flak for saying this but..... with the sort of throwback jerseys vs Wofford (which I really liked), Rocket Sanders reminded me very much of Big George #38. - Some of his moves brought back memories. Lattimore was awesome too but had a different style. Marcus could stop on a dime and shift and was more "fluid" ....so to speak.... whereas George and Rocket just tend to run over you with raw power. Rocket has some moves too but he just reminds me a lot of George.

I'd like to see us use a 2 back set in the backfield - shotgun - and switch it up between passing to Attaway and Handing off to Rocket and then vice versa, and rely a little less on Sellers legs......Sellers can do it, I just question is ball security over Rocket and Attaway.

The "we should be able to run the ball against them because the Citadel was able to" kind of transitive property has not usually worked out for us.

Clemson is 49th in total defense and 55th in rushing defense in the country. For comparison we are 13th and 12th respectively. And of course you can make the strength of schedule argument. No question we had a much tougher schedule. Clemson's defense has dropped a notch from the championship years and past years where they competed for championships.

But where they have made up for it is with the offense. They are 6th in the country in total offense. We are 50th. Of course, we turned our offense around in the second half of the season. But Clemson is a dangerous team on offense. They are 23rd in passing and 26th in rushing. Mafah, has over a 1000 yards on the ground. This could turn into a Missouri type game if our defense can't keep them in check. I think we win but it could be a close one.

I agree with the Big George analogy and voiced the same after the Mizzu game.
Rocket is powerful and yet elusive which makes him tough to tackle if adequate blocking gives him a little space.

Nothing against the guy, but the less Adaway touches the ball, the better our chances for offensive success.

#22 is our future RB1 unless for some reason we get a stud from the portal again... not likely, but we have options this year already here. Adaway is serviceable.

I should have put more emphasis on my thinking of Adaway catching passes out of the backfield ......like in the flats or quick underneath routes.... he's fairly decent at that, not so much with the running it like a normal RB.

That's what I meant. When he comes in at RB there's a big drop off so my thinking was throw it to him instead. I didn't really make that clear.

I talked to a very faithful tater yesterday. He knows the team in and out and has low confidence about this game. He's a homer, but he's pretty objective. We have bad matchups for them all over the field.

Don’t know how much one can really take away from the Wofford game, but going strictly off of that game, #22 is RB2 Saturday-coming! OA hasn’t impressed me all season, I’m sorry to say.
