From what I understand the HS he was at was able to offer scholarships and recruit, and was one of the more attractive schools in his area. So he had a massive talent disparity which hid that his gimmick wasn't that great.

Common sense prevails. Big kick in the nuts to the football modernists analytical 'expertzzz'.

Wasn’t offense that got him. In fact, they were outstanding moving the ball. Check out these points allowed during the 9 game losing streak:

How many times did the offense give the opponents a short field because he didn’t punt?

I haven’t checked any stats like “average opponent starting field position”, but I have to feel like going any time you go “4 and out”, you would set your opponents up for a lot of success.

Oof... for a guy that always goes for it, you’d hope he’d have a better percentage than 34%.

Yes? Accuracy is better than inaccuracy, isn't it?

I didn't give him the moniker. People may not know who the Coach Who Rarely Punts is supposed to be. Could be a coach whose offense is so successful they rarely face a 4th down.

Dudes.....come on now. Yes...the coach who (almost) never punts sadly was let down by his terrible defense. Imagine that. Field position is not a theoretical idea

I’m sure that hurt them in some games. But, they allowed 6.6 yards per play. That’s one of the worst in FCS.
