Just back from George M. Bryan Airport, where new Mississippi State baseball coach John Cohen was greeted by some three dozen who gathered clanging cowbells. One guy waved a big M-State flag; one group had draped a sign that read "Go to hell Ole Miss."

Cohen met with reporters for a few minutes, saying "in the big picture, it was absolutely a no-brainer" to come to State. He spent a few more minutes shaking the hands of the supporters that arrived in time for the jet's 7:26 p.m. landing.

When Cohen walked off the jet, he gave his two daughters, one of them who was wearing a MSU cap, fist-bumps. He kissed his wife. MSU athletic director Greg Byrne seemed to get an even bigger cheer from the crowd when he walked off the jet.

I'd love to paint this picture more completely, but print deadlines are looming. I'll try to come back in the morning and share some more.

That's classic, there.
