I feel like there was a lot of talk about the SEC being down and not deserving the spots it got, so I compiled the number of Regional spots by each conference and counted how many made it to Supers.

Not sure it proves anything, but overall, it looks like the SEC did pretty well.

There are two SEC vs SEC supers so the max that can get to Omaha is four. But yeah, not a bad total considering three SEC hosts are already out, including two Top 8 seeds.

It feels like the ACC is getting 1 or 2 more bids than they deserve recently and the SEC 1 or 2 less based on results. Am I wrong?

Which SEC program got outbid for a Super by a school with 1/8th their athletic budget?

Well, I don’t think you’re wrong, but the next teams up were Georgia, Mizzou, and State. I’m not sure any of those 3 deserve a bid.

I think the numbers disagree with you. I don't think there's any question.

That said, I do think they should reward that via bids, not hosting sites. We all know Cohen messed that up. But it's pretty clear that the SEC should have gotten 1, maybe 2, more teams in the field.

It's time to stop looking at conference record like it's 2010. The conference is much stronger now, and is about to become even more so.

The bright side of that is the SEC is guaranteed at least two teams in the CWS with one on each side of the bracket.
