Greenville High School has its new football coach, set to introduce Jaybo Shaw this week

Jaybo Shaw was 52-12 as head coach at two high schools in Georgia, and he was an assistant coach at Georgia Southern, Army and Western Carolina.

Jaybo Shaw, who turned around Wayne County’s football program after winning three region titles at Rabun County, was hired Monday as coach at Greenville in South Carolina.

Shaw was 10-3 and 7-4 in two seasons at Wayne County, a south Georgia school that was winless the season prior.

Shaw’s Rabun County’s teams, featuring current Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton, were 35-5 in three seasons.

Good for him...Greenville is a great place to be. live and coach. But it will get much tougher for him as he will now play with the big boys in Upstate SC. Byrnes, Gaffney, Dorman, TL Hanna, Wren, Chapman, Daniel and Westside are tough. Maybe in time he might be able to duplicate the success Bobby Bentley had at Byrnes. If he wants to be the gold standard in the Upstate: He must play the best and beat the best. Byrnes High School is the GOLD standard.
