Cotton creek - eh...not much to write home about. Been at least 10 years since I played there though. I like the Peninsula club. Best course in the area is Lost Key in Perdido though. Unbelievable test of target golf.

Kiva is pretty nice.

I was down there in march for a bachelor's party and it is a nice track for the money. Good greens and nice layout.

I used to share your admiration of Lost Key (Palmer course) but Katrina jacked up that course in a very bad way. It was a total loss. I waited until last summer (2007) to give it a try and it was the worst looking course I have ever played on. The next day we played Kiva Dunes and found out why everyone says that's the best course the Redneck Riviera has to offer. I HIGHLY recommend Kiva.

That's the most frustrating 18 holes I've ever played. There is nothing fun about losing your ball if you miss a fairway or green. You're average duffer simply can't play that course without losing a full dozen or more. There is NO damn rough. Just effing wasteland.

Kiva Dunes and Peninsula are my two favorites. Challenging, good layouts, but you can have a few beers and make some pars and birdies if you're having a good day.

I played both courses the second week of April and I liked Cypress Bend more than Cotton Creek, though both were very nicely maintained and layed out. I probably couldn't go wrong with choosing either of them.

The Penninsula is my favorite course on the planet. Best 27 holes around

The Peninsula is an OK track, but best course on the planet? You should really step away from the keyboard sometime and get out more.

Lost Ball errrr Lost Key. It's back now, but still frustrating. If you're a yard off the fairway, your ball is lost.

Perdido Bay Country Club is a very nice layout. It's just over the Baars bridge from Lost Key. They played the USGA Pensacola Open there until the mid 80's. If you're a repeat player there, it's $40 incl cart.
