There are so many alums staying in the CD, seems like there is an opportunity for some entrepreneurial person to have a to-go biscuit and coffee truck or stand. I’d selfishly like for it to be in the Coconuts lot. Blutos breakfast is good. But a place to walk over and grab a sack of breakfast wld be nice. Lots of good things happening in town. Beautiful weekend. JM.

There was a place in Starkville called the biscuit shop, run by a woman they called the biscuit lady. She moved her operations to the Tuscaloosa, AL area. I can attest that her biscuits were incredible.
I forgot all about that place. It was very good

Starkville needs breakfast places in general. When does 929 reopen?
This is true. We lived within walking distance of Starkville Cafe, and it was a weekend tradition no matter the season.

Set up a biscuit booth, a la the state fair. One free biscuit per drink (coffee, water, mimosa, etc) Then let the folks know they’re hungry and migrate to the main courses in a permanent fixture. Or maybe a food truck park, which are always fun.

People that will pay the 3-night minimum in Starkville could swing it.

Concur, I'll invest.
Dumbest of questions on that...we have a restaurant on the other end of the Plaza owned by 4, run by 1. How does investment work? You get full payout by ___, you get dividend on some schedule ?

As to a food truck, doesn't seem like much of an investment opportunity for more than 1 or 2, no?

It's amazing how many fans of other teams like the Starkville Cafe. We ate there after the EKU game, don't remember what time we got there.
Well....I could be considered one, since we come to town once per football season, if that. The biscuit place was the first consideration. Outside of that...starkville Cafe has a monopoly in the search engines.

Food truck park is a great idea. Also could do with a food hall if you could find the right spot.

She sold out to someone else that moved it to Northport I believe. I see her in Strarkville occasionally

The old location is about to open as a coffee shop upstairs and a family friendly 'game board' playing business downstairs (whatever that it). 929 said they would reopen at a later date elsewhere but I haven't heard where. The Coffee Depot isn't a full breakfast place but they have good scones, muffins, pastries, etc. It's in the old train depot across from Rosey Baby. I think it was a drug store before they opened up Coffee Depot. The Breakfast Club is open, again, in the old location on Eckford Drive where Cappey's and The Joint were too

With Connie’s Chicken expanding into West Point, why didn’t they put one in Starkville?
You do not want Connie's Chicken unless you have some condition that prevents you from eating anything seasoned. The most tasteless, unseasoned fried chicken you will ever eat.

I had commodore bobs brunch yesterday for the first time. It was awesome. The line was 100 deep 15 mins before they even opened. But they were able to fit just about everyone.
Commodore Bob's is the best restaurant in Starkville right now

Starkville 17ed up letting Bojangles leave. Best damn chicken biscuit on the planet
Man I've lived in the Carolinas for a long time now, and I love me a bojangles biscuit. It's good, but it ain't the best. I'd say biscuitville or tudors are better. Nothing compares to my grandma's though!

I will give you that the chicken is usually fresh, but it tastes like nothing. Like they didn't even put salt on it, even in Tupelo. Been going there as long as it's been open. Late 70s I believe. Never realized how bad it was until i moved away for a while and tried to return. The breakfast, on the other hand, is damn good. Tenderloin and biscuit

The West Point location probably won't be open a year from now. As evidenced by the line across the street at Popeye's and no cars at all at Connie's. You couldn't give away unseasoned chicken in West Point, MS.

I’ve heard good things about Arepas for breakfast, but haven’t been there myself. May try it this weekend.

I have not tried Arepas; I may do that this weekend. I still think a good biscuit counter in Coconuts would kill. Just solid BEC and SEC biscuits that you can walk over and grab. There are many folks within walking distance now who can't sleep past 6 a.m.

We've got a Bojangles in Nicholson when they built the Love's last year. They do have a good biscuit and they also have a viewing window where you can watch them make the biscuits.

I'm sure their Oxford location will kill it then, given the locals' fondness for tasteless meat.*

*This is only meant as a disparaging comment about Oxford and all the baloney and dry-chicken-tender-eating people affiliated therewith. No slight to Connie's - I love their chicken and gravy biscuits.

We were in Starkville the last couple days, first time going to Coffee Depot and it was outstanding, great food and coffee and prices aren't too bad. I could have sworn I saw a place by two brothers with a sign that said coffee and biscuits and a few other things one morning.

That was Arepas, I've seen a sandwich board out on the sidewalk along the street advertising because they are just around the corner.
I'm not a very adventurous eater, I don't spend money to try things I've never tried before and a lot of their menu is adventurous for me. Not saying its bad at all but I've never had a lot of it and I'm just not adventurous enough to try. They do have some traditional stuff that I'd try but I just never think about the place.
Here's their menu:

Not sure of the laws now, but Its not legal to pedal on the street. Gotta be so many feet off the right of way.

Coconut's would be private property. You'd have to pay rent or get someone to allow you to do it.

A small cart with biscuits and coffee in the morning and hot dogs at night when bar was closing.
