Lets be honest here, I really dont care for Reese and she annoys me more times than not. HOWEVER, if you read her comments and the ones from Morris before the game, they were taking the disrespect from Clark towards us (raven in particular) personally because several of our girls are fairly close to their girls. They were in essence playing for respect for us against someone they felt was completely disrespectful.
Clark is great, no doubt, but needed a dose of humility. Reese got hers when they played us and when the playground tough guy was no longer around (us) , she got her swag back. LSU killed Iowa yesterday and Iowa is struggling to accept it. They dont see that what happened to them is a carbon copy of what happened to us against them. We could never play our game because of the officiating taking alot of our style away which is aggressive defense. We played really slow compared to all season but I think alot had to do with not knowing how to defend without getting a foul called on them. Really we should have put Feagin, Watkins and others in there to really play hard and aggressive and if they foul, they foul but dont let Iowa get comfortable. However since we had to back off, Iowa felt they could do anything because we couldnt get near them. Yesterday, Iowa suffered the same treatment and never got in their game because they were in foul trouble from the get-go.
Back to original thought though, I dont care for Reese but she just did to Clark what Clark was and had been doing to everyone else for a while and the media loved it but now they think Reese is wrong. Reese really defended our girls that she actually respects. Clark she doesnt respect at all for attitude, so thats what happens.

I don’t see the problem with athletes throwing a little shade at each other while in a physical, competitive game.

Liking your post just isn’t enough. I loved it. Posters here taking up for Clarke while belittling Reece is asinine imo. I can understand admonishing both players. I can understand attributing both competitors words and actions as just a part of sports. However to condemn one and give the other a pass is beyond reason.

LSU defending Reese`s actions is B.S. Nothing more than poor sportsmanship. She drew a ring on one of her fingers during another recent game, so that is just trying to justify her lack of class. Notice how we don`t do that kind of crap - we have dominated the league with class. Now LSU comes along and acts like that. If Caitlin Clark got a technical for what she did, Reese should have gotten two. She was looking right at Clark, clearly was taunting her.

Clark is good and cocky. Many cocky players are beloved by their team's fanbase and ridiculed by others.

Many SC fans hated Spurrier's antics when was at Florida but loved him when he coached the Gamecocks.

I am disappointed for our players who didn't get to play for a second national championship. Iowa won and it is time to move on. Yet, I'd welcome a "secret" rematch against Iowa or LSU. I believe SC is better than both of them, but there is reason the tournament is called March Madness.

They say you can't blame the officials for a loss and I rarely ever blame a loss on the officials. I blame Friday's loss on the officials!

CC has shown emotion and exuberance many times. Maby more than I want to see. Bu I’ve been watching her for a while and have never seen her direct any of that towards another player like Reece did to her

I think the whole thing is over blown. Saying that, I also believe if Reese does the finger thing as she walks by Clark, then proceeds to play to the crowd and celebrate with teammates it’s not even a discussion.

Reese followed for 10 seconds, and then demanded respect in post game conference, then brought it to social media. Which probably turned alot of people off.

Clark is no saint, but Clark goes from game mode to PR mode SUPER fast. Usually her post game conferences are nothing like her on the court personality.

Not sure why race got even brought into it. As I firmly believe if Reese went from jab at Caitlin to humbled winner giving other team praise it’s no issue.

That being said, Reese can be who she wants to be, act like she wants to act, and shouldn’t care what people think or say.

She just likely won’t be the medias darling like Clark. Clark’s approach is just more marketable in todays world. Whether you agree with it or not.

They were doing it back at the team that did it to them first. Their guard did the too small and rock the baby mocking Zia….then Zia took over so the bench did it back and rightfully so. Let’s get the facts straight.

To the people that think Reece is a thug for trash talking on the court during a game, how did you feel about Messina's bat flip on his HR against Clemp?? Some of you guys need to get over yourself. Trash talking is a part of all sports. We all loved DJ flexing on Ellington...or throwing the ball into the stands after a pick 6 against Ark, or fielding a Michigan punt during warmups in the bowl and telling them to get the F off his field. I'm 100% not a "that's racist" or "that's sexists" guy...but I'm struggling to find any other explanation as to why folks are so up in arms about Angel here. It's perplexing.
