Could South Carolina women's basketball play an outdoor game?

I don't know about the rest of it, but I can't imagine why temps in the 50s would be considered "too cold" for basketball. Every girl on the court would have likely played outdoor basketball in colder temperatures than that growing up.

Iowa is playing their exhibition game against DePaul in their football stadium. They sold out the reserved seating area at $20 per. Hawkeyes look pretty primed to end USC‘s #1 attendance streak as they have sold out their regular season season tickets.

Probably not these days. Most kids don't play outside pickup like they used to. Most of their play is in a controlled league environment or AAU setting. Frankly, I don't know what kids that don't play organized sports do for exercise. I see kids either playing organized sports in a controlled environment, on their phones. or playing a video game.

I only played pick up BB growing up on asphalt courts year round....I could run through some shoes and balls...that asphalt was rough. When the ball got so slick that I could not palm it then it was time for a new one. In the Winter we would start out in sweats over shorts and hoodies and toboggans. After a while, off came one layer , then another, finally shorts and jerseys and toboggan .

So thankful I grew up in the no computer/cell phone age. I spent almost every day after school in the park playing whatever sport was happening at the time and didn't come home until around 11pm, luckily, we had access to lights which were never locked. And the wonderful thing about it was my parents didn't worry about me. Today, many kids never leave home and are locked to their media devices, very sad.

I think an outdoor WBB game would be great and might draw a new group of fans due to the novelty of it. Of course, there are many weather issues which may have to be dealt with.

I'd like it a lot better if we were the defending national champions returning a team that certainly can make a deep run again. Question is, if we were to stage it, could we reasonably expect to draw more people that Iowa is going to draw when they do theirs? If not, I'd say don't incur the embarrassment. People need to put on their thinking caps before we launch this. I mean their THINKING caps, not their FEELING caps.
