Could South Carolina women's basketball play an outdoor game?
Inspired by Nebraska's hugely successful outdoor volleyball match, could South Carolina play a basketball game at Williams-Brice Stadium?
Probably not these days. Most kids don't play outside pickup like they used to. Most of their play is in a controlled league environment or AAU setting. Frankly, I don't know what kids that don't play organized sports do for exercise. I see kids either playing organized sports in a controlled environment, on their phones. or playing a video game.I don't know about the rest of it, but I can't imagine why temps in the 50s would be considered "too cold" for basketball. Every girl on the court would have likely played outdoor basketball in colder temperatures than that growing up.
Good points!I'd like it a lot better if we were the defending national champions returning a team that certainly can make a deep run again. Question is, if we were to stage it, could we reasonably expect to draw more people that Iowa is going to draw when they do theirs? If not, I'd say don't incur the embarrassment. People need to put on their thinking caps before we launch this. I mean their THINKING caps, not their FEELING caps.
