I don't know if that would be possible but I think it would be as easy as hiring Cohen from Kentucky. Those should be the top two candidates in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm sure that McDonnell would come in and work hand in hand with Bianco to hamstring the program.

I hope my sarcasm meter's just off today.

I guess you don't like Melvin Smith or didn't like Joe Lee Dunn during the late 90's. And I'm sure that Ole Miss fans didn't like what Van Chancellor did with the women's basketball program.

OP4 is right. If you can win games, I don't care where you came from. In fact, I think it would be especially sweet if we hired McDonnell and then started dominating the SEC in baseball.

This idea of not hiring someone because they coached at your rival is utterly stupid. It's nice to see it didn't take Peaches long to slide back into his regular routine.

have McDonnell than Cohen. If he had a hand in building Ole Miss, and has built Louisville from nothing, then he'd do great things at our program.

If you can raise the dead, you can wake a sleeping giant, I don't care where you've been.

I like McDonnell too, but he didn't build Louisville from nothing. They had a lot of experienced players in year one last year. He can't possibly be credited for all of that.

Just cant stand not doing the personal attacks huh? The fact that you still defend Crooms offense basically renders any opinion you have moot

he sure built them from not much. I know they had players back from the previous year, but those players went 31-29 the year before and Louisville's last NCAA tournament appearance was in 2002 where they lost 7-1 and 9-1 to go 0-2 in their regional.

....it just doesn't play as big of a role in recruiting as you say it does, and I believe a conservative, run oriented offense + a good defense = success at MSU. But we could still have that and be in the middle of the pack, and not ranked in the triple digits.

I agree. McDonnell is the better candidate. By far.

that was on the bubble so they got hot just like we did with experienced players. 31-29 is definitely a lot better than I thought he took over. And he had 6 players drafted.

or not building Louisville, but he was the driving force behind Ole Miss baseball resurgance, so that proves he can build, and what he did at Louisville last year proves to me that he can coach.

you incredible douchebag, that the goddamn baseball field is named after a guy who coached at Ole Miss, aren't you? Or are you just getting your jollies by posting inane ramblings aGAIN?

I don't know why DS decided to go back on my idea, but as always, I was right.

that Dudy was a State grad and former player who saw the error of his ways and said," I'm firmly convinced I will go to heaven because I've already been to hell. I coached at Ole Miss."

....I'm just point out that Dan McDonnell would be a great hire, regardless of where he was an asst, and on top of that, he probably has some Mississippi recruiting connections.

I was unaware of that. But he was a State grad. That still doesnt change my position. I dont see whats so hard to understand about this. I dont want anybody leading one of our 3 programs that graduated or coached there. I hate them that much. I want them to lose every game they play. I never want them to experience success in anything.
Its in my divorce papers that if my children choose to attend there they get no money from me. And that idea was taken from my father-in-law who had that stipulation on my ex. Thats how serious I am about it.

I'm not flaming or anything, just stating the way I look at it

Wow. That's just freaking sick. That's all I can say to that. If I had any respect left for you, I'd have just lost it. Seriously, that closes the book on you for me.

I doubt seriously you included that in your divorce papers. But on the slight chance you did, I suspect its a moot point anyway. Edited to add, I'm betting you will deeply regret ever adding that bit of useless information.

Say we hired Lawrence Roberts as bball coach one day then he took us to the Final Four. Wouldn't that make it even worse?

If McDonnell is the best available coach we can hire, we'd damn well better hire him. Some people hate UM more than they love MSU (or vice versa). Those people are dumbasses. I really thought most all of those were on Gene's Page.

now.

I can't imagine why you were filling out divorce papers...

...as patdog said below, some people hate Ole Miss worse than they love State. It seems some people hate Ole Miss more than they love their kids.
