Could this be a repeat of 2004?

The parallels are eerie. 2004 was Croom’s first season and we had lost to Maine, Vandy and UAB. Ron Zook was on the hot seat at Florida when they came into Starkville looking for a pick me up win. We somehow won that game, Zook was fired the next day, and the verb Croomed was invented. Will history repeat itself? Will we somehow beat Florida? Will Napier get Lebbied? It is kind of odd just how much of a parallel there is in that season and this one.

Seems more like 88. Downpour during game 1, we win, and then...

I’d actually put us beating Florida this weekend at a higher chance than I would’ve had us winning in 2004

Crazy part is I think our oline and dline was better that season from what I've seen so far this season
Croom actually inherited decent talent. Definitely some holes, but a good coach would have won with that team.

I don't know that we have much talent now. I'm sure it's not worse than Toledo's so we obviously have some pretty major coaching issues too, but I do think we are probably not an SEC team talent wise.

No, Tech and 10 had a scrappy, yet slow, defense. We could stick. The problem was we were undersized and outmanned.

This is the worst talent I've ever seen and the insane number of injuries compounds the problem. We don't have squat! QB and WR is ok but after that it's basically a safety and a bunch of stiffs. The young guys need to just get thrown into the fray.

No doubt. That team had future NFL talent on the lines in David Stewart and Deljuan Robinson. Willie Evans also led the SEC in sacks that next year. I don't see anyone on our current o line or d line making an NFL roster

That is what sucks about this year. There is not a single player I am excited to watch play. Not one. Even in the dark times there was somebody I thought might do something awesome
And in a day and age where running backs are an absolute dime a dozen, one of the most inexcusable things about this roster is our RB situation. I get it, our O line isn't great, but good grief... I don't know that we have a RB on the roster that could find ten yards against a local HS team

You haven't watched Kevin Coleman? He's out there making **** happen by himself a lot of the time.
