Lebby always gets on bottom because all he can do is 17 up***

So should it be assumed that he’s heading to be thrown under the bus by the Rev next season?

These portal guys can go 17 themselves!
You’re a quitter and you have no loyalty and 17 U
That’s my take on this new age of the ridiculousness of college football!

Does this brunch offer Irish Coffee, or Hair of the Dog?

I've completely lost the plot in this thread.

If my count is correct, we have 17 go into the portal but only one come to us from the portal. Welp it's not looking good. More proof we don't have the right staff. I will wait and see what happens. I hope it balance out.

Get that crap outta here! We're bringing in Arnold, one of his WR's, and a DL from Oklahoma. Craver is collateral damage. It's a business and we are investing money. Either that, or we are 17ed.
Per the other thread on Arnold he was bad this year because his receiver's sucked and his O line sucked so why do we want his receiver's?

It will balance out. We’ll take close to 20 from the portal. Question is how good will they be. All but about 3 or 4 of the ones leaving are players we wanted to keep. At least so far.

His receivers were injured. I’m not worried about Lebby recruiting receivers. Everything else, I’m worried about.

A lot of these guys are being advised by their agents to go into the portal to force their original teams to increase their NIL to retain them. For any player of value it’s a no brainer. Inflationary spiral.

Problem is, if their value isn’t what they think it is, their current team may just let them go & they take a pay cut.

It doesnt work if you are a marginal player, for Craver it’s a no brainer. He doubles his money and stays or he goes and plays at Auburn or several other places. for quality players with value to other teams there is no downside to doing this. Really it would be financially stupid to just stay for the same money or a small increase.

this is why to the people with their head in the sand who say it’s not all about the money, it is all about the money, at least for most of these guys.

No doubt Craver will get paid. We never had a chance of keeping him.

We could keep him if we wanted to match the top offer he would get elsewhere. do that with enough players and you can’t improve your roster the way you would like to. I am not sure going qb/reciever is the smartest way to build a roster. if the line of scrimmage is marginal, you aren’t going to beat good teams.

It’s a crazy world in college football. You hsve to balance how good the player is with what he’ll cost. Maybe we could keep him, but as you say we have huge needs on both DL & OL and we have other good receivers. And we’re going to have to pay a lot to either keep Van Buren or sign Arnold. Those are our biggest needs right now.

Arnold behind a bad O line may not be as productive as Taylor or VB behind a much improved O line. Win totals may not improve much without a D line. I think an experienced program builder would have line of scrimmage both sides and CB play as priorities.

That’s whole thing about this crazy new system. Different players/positions have different values for different teams. It all depends on what your team needs….

He’d be better than either for sure. Taylor nowhere near ready to play in SEC next year. Agree about OL & DL. We need a massive portal haul on both this year. Next is either getting Arnold or keeping Vsn Buren. Then CB & LB.

I don’t think Arnold behind this current O line translates into many more wins. If you can get Arnold for the same money as VB of course you take Arnold.
