I give credit to Lebby for the QBs brought in. Agree with others that this is the most important position on a team. The offense wins or fails because of the QB. If the QB is really good, tuff as nails and a leader then he is worth a few wins.

But also imo the defense has got to be able to be decent enough to at least makes some stops to win in the SEC. Thus I am still angry at Lebby for retaining the defensive staff and lack of SEC level defense players.

I'll be rationalizing 6-7 wins by August.

Saw this on twitter - he has signed the two highest rated QB's in State history in KaMario Taylor and Luke Kromenhoek.

We can talk about defense all day but I'll give Lebby some credit - he's got some QB talent (on paper) in the building.

If you can't stop 'em, you gotta outscore 'em!

@dawgstudent please tag positive posts before posting.

It's really jarring to see anything hopeful amidst all of the total despair and hopelessness.

Having a great qb is great but nobody to block for him and nobody to stop any one from scoring or running up the guy on defense is just a waste of a good qb.
Had a coach years ago that would say "hitting hard, and then not wrapping up on on a tackle is like only getting the head in on wedding night" I would say having a good qb but no line or defense is probably like that too. You getting there but a long way away from really getting where you want to go.

Is this true? I also saw this but somebody said Costello was actually higher rated than one of them. No clue if that’s true or not.

You have to have defense in the SEC.
3 keys:
Be able to run the football
Be able to Stop the run
Win the special teams game, ie: make your FG’s and XP’s, punt the football well ( flip the field) don’t give up big returns, don’t get kicks blocked.
You do these things and you win 69% of the time.
