Academic all league, has his degree. Good for him; I wish him well.
I’d call him an athletic student, which is what they all should be ( not student athlete imo).

A few thoughts- I assume many of the non super star wrestlers do not get full financial aid-so unless they come from a wealthy family they may be accumulating student loan debt. Second, I was not aware of his reported "significant back injury"-surely one can not wrestle successfully with a bad back. Third, he is GRADUATING and has been an All Big 10 for academics! So in terms of being a STUDENT-athlete he has been a huge success, gave it his all, and has represented PSU extremely well off and on the mat! Good luck to him and we all should hope he uses his PSU degree to have a very successful post wrestling career. One last note- Obviously, wrestling is a very demanding sport so it sure makes sense for someone in his situation to transition to the next phase of his life-a career unless he is going to pursue a specific graduate career program as he has been an excellent student. GOOD LUCK

He had a 28-10 record as a wrestler. He was good there as well. Very well rounded individual. I was proud to watch him in the Blue & White.
