"We haven't had a game before now where we had 10 penalties, three turnovers, five critical errors (on special teams) - that's 18 plays. You're not going to win against a good YMCA team with 18 plays. We haven't done that in the worst of times, and it's real disappointing, because we did some good things.</p>

"I hope that we got across to them today that in order for us to win, other people win different ways, but we cannot beat ourselves with penalties and turnovers. We can't have the things that we can control - we have to control them. That's the only way we won last year, and that's the only way we're going to win now.</p>

"We eliminate one of those 18 plays, we win the game. That was 18 opportunities we wasted."</p>
Wow come on. 4 quarters of play were badly coached. But you say its 18 opportunities.

The funniest thing to me is him saying 18 plays. That's what cost us the game. That rivals coach34's post saying you take out Dixon's 31 yard run, his average would suck. Both obvious statements.

that if we would have ran the ball more we would have physically beaten La. TEch. If I remember correctly they were cramping in the 4th. Easily we could have pounded on them.

it was more of a knock on the absurdity of Croom's statement than Coach's point earlier.

Dixon's 7 carries- 27 yards in the 3rd quarter just wore their *** down huh? Idiots

Some of you seem to forget- the first time we got the ball in the 4th quarter, the was 6:45 left and we we're down 8

You know, really, I have gotten past the punt from the 30 thing, the whole "we will not embarass you" thing, the "I don't care what the fans think" thing and all that other bs, but this 18 play deal is nuts. I couldn't believe it when I read it. 18 plays he is blaming players for critical error, talking penalties, turnovers, and stopped short of reminding everyone he wasn't on the field playing.

I heard after all the losses it came down to 3 or 4 plays and thats fine, but 18 plays. At what point do we begin to think coaching has something to do with it. Is he that stupid? Come on coach, 18 plays. No **** but it had something to do with you too.

So what you are saying is that you don't think we could sustain a scoring drive that includes Anthony Dixon in six minutes and forty-five seconds and timeouts. You would rather our second-string, walk-on, juco quarterback, with no offers to be on the field throwing the ball? Personally I would rather see AD on the field by himself.

I too wondered why we panicked in the 4th quarter and didnt mix it up some...But, there are too many people acting like we didnt run Dixon at all in the 2nd half and that is just not true...And to Tech's credit, they dominated the 4th quarter by running over our defense...

3 yards and a cloud of dust will not work this season because we are not as good defensively and not as well coached....

It looked to me like the coaches and team went into panic mode when LA Tech took the lead midway through the 3rd quarter.

This I agree with that and I am sorry to say that my thoughts are that 3 yrds and a cloud of dust is what we will see. I hope I am wrong, but judging by Crooms history of getting gunshy and protecting the ball I imagine that he reverts back into his comfort zone.

If I am wrong I will be pleasantly surprised.

character and heart and NOT 3 plays we pulled out of our *** last year kept us from being 4-8 instead of 8-5.
