Interesting: SEC has 4 of the Top5; 6 of the Top 10; & 8 of the Top 20

Well, be prepared for us to drop a game or 2 against #24 Long Beach State and half the board jump off the Golden Gate Bridge.

This reaction (should that happen) is as certain as death and taxes and a good reminder that Christmas is in December

I thought that both Vandy and OM were losing a lot of starting pitchers. Why are both ranked so high? Of course I know OM is always over hyped in the pre season and early season.

But even with the nationally-led-Bianco hype machine, they still aren't ranked higher than THE DEFENDING CHAMPS. Not this year.

OM wont have a hole in their lineup and Vandy is getting love because they have a top 3 recruiting class every year so they know they are good on the mound. They return some good bats that went dead in Omaha.

OMs biggest issue will be whether Diamond is actually healthy

Maybe so, but OM losing Hoglund and Nikhazy, and Vandy losing Rocker and Leiter, is bound to have a big impact.

No one is returning much starting pitching. Except TX. Which is why they are 1.

I would flip Vandy and LSU’s ranking. Whatever pitching Ole Miss and Vandy have they will use it up in February/March.

I feel like this is their preseason Top 25 every year. It's like "let's just put a bunch of name brands on the list and see where they shake out".

Seriously.

Those 4 guys were stud starting pitchers.

Surely, those teams don't have a new starting pitcher ready to step in and be as good as Leiter . . . or Nikhazy . . . or Rocker . . . or Hoglund.

Bianco and Corbin always have starting pitching. I didn't think there was any way Ole Miss could replace Wahl/Mayers after 2013, but they did, and made the run to Omaha. And funny enough, their lineup will be similar with a bunch of seniors. I expect them to contend for Omaha, Vandy as well.

Never fear though, we will be as good or better.

TEXT LEMONS TO 90944 with your suggestion on how to coach our team. Coach will check each message in the dugout.

Ah, so TEXAS IS BACK is a baseball thing too, huh?

Uhhh, Texas never left. They have been one of the best programs in the country for decades and decades now. If fact, with 37 College World Series appearances and 6 National Championships, they're in the conversation for the greatest collegiate program of all time.

True, which just makes our 3 out of 4 W's against them last year, and especially the 2 out of 3 in Omaha, that much more impressive.

Next year, that would be 5 of the Top 5 SEC. And possibly, 4 out of the Top 5 SECW.

We live in a tough neighborhood in every sport, but in baseball... sheesh.

Stating the obvious. Texas was probably the best team we beat last year in the CWS. In my opinion from being there and watching it.

I imagine we all will be seeing Notre Dame in a super again
