I didn't see any little leaguers on the field. You also didn't see him pull a pitcher that can't get out a little leaguer either did you?
They could have said they didn’t play and it was the players fault as you were eluding. Wake upWhat does Horn or Scott have to do with baseball?

I think he's getting more time than Chad due to the Covid year, and also the freaky level of injuries in the recent past. I won't say Omaha, but yeah, he's gotta have a deep run, and also show that he's got a plan for future success and stability. Otherwise he should be gone. His record just isn't good enough. To me, it's Omaha or unemployment for King. And I will continue to think that until either one happens. Clemson isn't very good. I'm happy we took the series. And I'm happy we're climbing in the rankings. It's a damn shame King has been allowed to stay on this long. Holbrook only got 4 years, and went to the supers 2 of those 4. Holbrook had a record of 84-67 in the SEC. King through 4 seasons is 54-66. King has to win 22 games this year just to be .500. That's embarrassing for a program that was at the pinnacle of the sport.
I just think we had 2 other coaches that sucked worse than he did that needed to be fired first. Kind of crazy to think about our AD sitting there needing to fire all 3 of the top men's coaches. It's been 11 years since we've been to Omaha. A message needs to be sent loud and clear. Omaha is the expectation. If you can't meet it after 6 years, you need to go. And for the next guy, you have 4 years to get there, with solid postseason results within those 4 years. Baseball is the one sport we can swing our history around with. We should be in omaha at a minimum once every 3 years.I think he's getting more time than Chad due to the Covid year, and also the freaky level of injuries in the recent past. Now that you mention it maybe that's the down side of having an AD who has done as a coach what no other coach has done at his school. Maybe he doesnt expect as much because he was the exception and knows it.I just think we had 2 other coaches that sucked worse than he did that needed to be fired first. If that's the case then he needs to go before King. Now that you mention it maybe that's the down side of having an AD who has done as a coach what no other coach has done at his school. Maybe he doesnt expect as much because he was the exception and knows it.
I don't think you can put an exact number or destination to determine whether a coach will last. Anything can happen in postseason, even to good teams. Look at Tennessee and Arkansas in recent years being top seeds but not making it to Omaha. Shoot, Tanner took team to 3 straight CWS in early 2000s, then didn't go again for about 8 years. Just because you get there a few times doesn't mean you get there in perpetuity, especially when you have a coaching change. I'm sure the three different SEC teams that won the CWS the last 3 years all think they're special too, but there's a chance they don't make it back to Omaha in the next few years. I think people are ignorant to expect to replace a legendary coach with another legendary coach... it just doesn't happen very often in any sport even if you hire someone who seemed like a good hire at the time.To me, it's Omaha or unemployment for King. It's all relative to the coach. I don't think that's too much to ask for a program with our pedigree for the minimum expectation to keep the job is going to the tournament and being one of the top 64 teams in the country. Since the tourny expanded to 64, we went 16 out of 17 years prior to King. Holbrook was that one we missed, and now King has missed 2. He also gave us our first losing season and .500 season since 1970. So I have ZERO issues with putting an exact number or destination on him. He's earned it. Even though RT had a lull in getting to Omaha, we were still winning regionals. IMO, he's out of passes. No more excuses. I know crap happens...that's why you've got to build up some cred for when those moments happen. King hasn't done that. I'm hopeful he will this year.I don't think you can put an exact number or destination to determine whether a coach will last. Anything can happen in postseason, even to good teams. The key is whether your program can put itself in the position to be relevant to get to the postseason most years. If your program is there or trending in that direction, then it can be a crapshoot once you get to the postseason, but as along as you're in the conversation each year, the program is in good shape.
I do agree that certainly Kingston has to get to the postseason this year, and certainly hosting a regional would be a step in the right direction. I think you have to give him a pass for last year with SIX pitchers out for most of the year. With limited scholarships, you don't "win anyway" with that.
Boy, do you ever speak the truth! To me, it's Omaha or unemployment for King. And I will continue to think that until either one happens. Clemson isn't very good. I'm happy we took the series. I don't understand the exceptions for the "Covid" year. Every coach in the world had to deal with the Covid situation. Coaches that had a lousy year after Covid should automatically be excused for having a bad team? Many coaches had excellent teams after Covid. That is a weak excuse in my opinion. I don't get it and would love for someone to enlighten me. That having been said, I hope we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with this current team. Go Yardcocks!!I think he's getting more time than Chad due to the Covid year
