Alabama did give him the keys to the kingdom, but Alabama is the British Empire of college football.

**** about Alabama football that drives me nuts.

Alabama did give him the keys to the kingdom, but Alabama is the British Empire of college football.
This is not true any more. Alabama is now a middle of the road SEC team in terms of the standing of their program. I understand they wanted a great coach, and they hired one. But, ****, Bama just ain't all that anymore.

Alabama football ain't what it once was, just like the British Empire ain't what it once was. Neither strikes fear into anybody, and hasn't for a long time.

This quote's gotta hurt.</p>
Territories it once ruled, like Auburn and Mississippi State, have declared their independence with a vengeance.

That was a great article! Alabama is such a dumbass institution they even turned one of their most loyal followers (Croom) against them; however, it was a great benefit for us. Schools such as Alabama and Ole Miss are about to absolutely sink in a pool of their own manure, because of the "we're traditionally better than everybody" mindset. I mean if you go back and look at the National Championship polls from the 60s back when these schools were so dominate, one could legitimately argue that three or four teams could classify as a national champion. If both of these institutions continue to carry their current attitudes, then good things for us, cause they'll just be on he outside looking in, since nobody will want to come work for them and their bogus expectations. I mean on a tangent outside of Alabama football, what prestige does Ole Miss think they have? They haven't been to Omaha in over thirty years, They're the only team in the west that's never been to Atlanta in football and the furthest they've ever made it in basketball is the sweet sixteen, I mean give me a break. I know we had six long hard years of football, but I'd take goin from the mountain top down to the valley and then back to the peak, than sitting with my thumb up my butt on the side of a hill. I mean they are totally content with being mediocre and subpar, which is just fine for me as a state fan. And my regards to Alabama football, well, the majority of their fanbase has never set foot on the campus before and most of them reproduce within the family tree. That's all- Enter Rebelbruiser

You're lumping Ole Miss' mindset in with Alabama's? Who have you been talking to?
