Freaking Doris Burke doing color on Hornets/Spurs game. I hate female announcers in male sports. Why can't they just stay in the kitchen and make us sandwiches and popcorn while keeping us supplied with cold beer? Or at least wear something skimpy and shake a pom-pom?

is where I don't enjoy women announcers. The first one I heard was calling a Big 10 game. She made some kind of insult about cows walking out on the field at Arkansas, and who wants to see that. It rubbed me wrong with Big 10 arrogance. Since then I've only heard them on softball, and they sound butch on those games. I see no reason to watch Big 10 football when we have the SEC, and softball sure isn't baseball so I guess I don't care.
Ol' Doris did an all right job. It's definitely strange hearing a woman's voice doing color for an NBA playoff game, but she pretty much hit on everything a color man... umm.. person... should do. She didn't step on the toes or talk over the play by play guy. The stuff she said was to the point and she got it out in one or two sentences. If I wanted to ignore her I could because she was simply providing background stuff and let the game entertain the audience instead of trying to direct the broadcast in another direction. In other words, she let the game be the story and didn't try to create one. And finally, she actually had a "fan" moment or two without going beserk, which I like. I distinctly remember when CP3 got fouled at the rim and made that circus prayer shot, Doris chimed in with, "That is just ridiculous." My thoughts exactly, Doris. Well done, madame.</p>
