I would love to see the Saints get Smoot. Don't know if it will ever happen, but you know a guy that had an orgy boat in Minnesota would be fun to watch in New Orleans. He could have the Crewe of Smoot at Mardi Gras.

I have no faith in the Saints front office to make the right choice on draft day.

But I think we still might make a play for a CB in the late 1st (trade-wise)- Ellis is a man-child, and a pass rush like that helps our secondary anyway.

Elite defensive tackles are much more difficult to come by. The saints added Randall Gay and Aaron Glenn in the offseason. You'd hope last year's 2nd round pick (Usama Young) would be much improved. I just have a lot more faith any Ellis being a really good pro than any of the top DB's in this year's draft.

I'd trade your pick for my Titans pick in a heartbeat. A DT would have been a better pick than a 17ing KICK RETURNER. How, How, HOW did we pass on every damn WR on the board? Only we could 17 up that pick. Welcome to Nashville: Home of the NEW Aint's.

I liked Dan Connor or Ray Rice in that spot. The Giants must have been asking for this 2nd rounder and next year's 1 for Shockey.

the concensus is that there are no elite 1st round level WRs in this draft. You can still get a good enough WR later and that kid from ECU has gamebreaking ability. That's a better pick than reaching for a guy who you can get later.. or at least someone fairly comparable
As for the NO pick, I love it. Ellis is an absolute monster. I actually like him better than Glen Dorsey.

The reason the secondary looked so terrible (the main one at least) is terrible DL play and no pass rush whatsoever.

In a related question . . . . . is it OK now that Eddie O is DL coach? Is he now a fiery, inspirational leader rather than a loose cannon nutjob?

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Saints sheep wondering what the company line is</p>

...just like Gary Payton, to see if they can measure up to being the next Great Dallas Cowboy's Head Coach. If Orgeron can prove himself to a great DL coach, maybe Payton can bring him along when Jerry Jones hires him away from the New Orleans/San Antonio/Los Angeles Saints.

first, Gary Payton is a point guard.

Secondly, I have to wonder how the ultra-conservative, pro law enforcement Mutt the Hoople is enjoying your newest cornerback.

Secondly, kids make mistakes all the time. He's a good kid, and in the right atmosphere, will become the next Mel Renfro.
